Sugar’s sweet sabotage
In West Africa there is a fruit eaten by the natives that is referred to as the MIRACLE FRUIT. What is so miraculous about it is that it turns anything sour or bitter you eat into something sweet. And it looks like the SUGAR industry has been keeping it down.
Although the fruit has been used forever (it was first documented in 1725) it hasn’t been seen in western societies much - but that isn’t for a lack of trying. In the 1970’s the fruit was commercialized as a way of sweetening your foods without a gain in calories (it was even made available in pill form). However, the venture failed citing SABOTAGE and BURGLED RESEARCH. By whom? The SUGAR INDUSTRY and the FDA.
This brings to mind the more recent sweetener STEVIA. Like the miracle fruit, it is a plant that adds sweetness without the calories. However, the Sugar Industry and the FDA had Stevia classified as a DIETARY SUPPLEMENT instead of a sweetener.
All of this (and that dream I had of the giant sugar cube chasing me) just goes to reinforce my thought that sugar is inherently evil, and the FDA is it’s thug.
Think about it…

Thanks Ari - I couldn’t have said it better myself…
The reason the sweetener is being kept secret is that the sugar industry would lose millions (if not billions) of $$$, plain and simple.

Hmmmm….I’m not buying the inherent evil of sugar. Sugar is a natural substance, it pairs well with the caffeine in my daily coffee and seems to be a key ingredient in everything that I like. Sugar is the bomb!

I suppose I should have been more specific. Sugar in itself (the natural raw sugar) is not evil, but the REFINED sugar that we become addicted to (like caffeine) is B-A-D.

Go inside a sugar refinery. One of the filthiest refineries around. Almost makes an oil refinery look appetizing.
You cannot wash this stuff out. filthy…dirty…sugar…filthy…dirty…sugar…
